I love BBQ Pitmasters!!!
BBQ Pitmasters is a great show! My husband and I love BBQ. I love to watch the cooks and their different techniques for preparing the various challenges they are given. My husband is quite a good bbq cook. I get lots of ideas for preparing meats. I like their assorted panel of judges. Myron, Aaron and Tuffy are my favorite judges. I hope BBQ Pitmasters are around for a long time. I haven't missed an episode! All the episodes get "5 Stars" from me!
Back on track!
Season 1 was great, season 2 really messed up by having some crazy throw in to BBQ. Season 3 kept a similar format as season 2, but got rid of the announcer and ridiculous meat. They varied the meat selection outside the usual 4 disciplines, so the show stayed entertaining, but not ridiculous.
Season 3
Season 1 was sublime with the stories of the individuals, the learning process, those who succeeded and failed. Season 2 was more impersonal. Season 3 is a disaster. Trying to make BBQ go Hollywood. Yuck. I saved the episodes but deleted them. I was nearly as mad as the guy who was disqualified.
Thankfully seasons 4 and 5 are more back on track, but still not as good as season 1, where we really got to know the competitors and followed their progress, or lack thereof.
I really felt I needed to add my opinion since season 3 is currently rated much higher than season 2.
